King’s Prayer

God, grant me the strength to die well
For this day I am the bringer of hell
Grant me your righteous wrath
For this day I must kill all in my path
I see weariness in my brave men’s eyes
Not one amongst them fears to die
I see bodies bruised and broken
Bloody hands and words unspoken
Battered steel, so much they gave
Everything given, a kingdom to save
For the sea devil’s we cast back to the sea
Blessed by Your power, a victorious decree
The Hardest of kings came to fight
His army did not see the night
Housecarls held the shield wall strong
Crimson sunset, blooded day long
Such bravery, I could ask for not more
But to fight again, the new invasion of our shores
The Ravager has come to rule and to take
Quickly my brethren, no time to forsake
With all haste we marched through night and day
Brave weary Housecarls, so much they gave
My brothers, again we must stand strong
Today our lives are no longer long
By oath I will fall upon this field
By oath we must die gripping the shield
My wife, I do love you with all of my heart
My children, I miss you with each days new start
I will never see nor touch you again
For this day the angels heaven does send
My brothers, hold the shield wall strong
Fury and vengeance, our days are no longer long
By oath I will fall upon this field
By oath we must die gripping the shield
Our names shall be whispered by our sons
Long shall be our line, bravery never shunned
Millenia passed, when our blood falls to knee
We shall be archangels, to rise our decree
A blessed word in our children’s ear
Death my child, you must never fear
By oath I will fall upon this field
By oath we must die gripping the shield
