Summer Traveller

When the ice breaks we shall travel
When the snow lifts the sails unravel
In flower’s bloom we shall leave
Never will destiny deceive
Blessed life there is to lose
A worthy life, the steps we choose
Gather thy strength in giant’s storm
Embrace the path woven by Norns
In ice find strength and rest
Unknown waters come, all perils jest
Tar the ships, prepare the mead
Sharpen axe, thy only need
In winter grow strong thy shield
In summer we go to distant fields
Blessed life there is to lose
A worthy life, the steps we choose
Forge thy hand for unknown fate
For fate has chosen death’s date
Tar the ships, smoke the meat
Strong thy heart, fate to greet
Honour the spirits, ancestral blood
Oaths of valour and deeds of love
Mount the serpent and head of beast
Our ships travel to Immortal Feast
When wolves howl under hunter’s moon
Prepare thyself for our coming doom
When crows cry victory’s call
We are the dead who never fall
Blessed life there is to lose
A worthy life, the steps we choose
